In Bridgewater State University’s Department of Music, we recognize that your life will be as unique as a live performance. That’s why our undergraduate students, from majors in music to minors, receive a future-focused and individualized education.
BSU’s award-winning faculty help you develop skills employers value, such as performing under pressure, problem solving and responding to constructive critique — all in small, intensive classes.
You can choose from multiple concentrations, from majoring in music performance to pre-music therapy to music education. Since 2018, 100 percent of majors in music education went on to full-time teaching contracts within six months of graduation.

- Special ensembles. Join several extracurricular rehearsal and performance ensembles like the BSU Bear Band, Jazz Band and our West African Drumming group.
- State-of-the art facilities. Take advantage of our recently updated Digital Audio Workshop (DAW), two new professional rehearsal grand pianos and dedicated practice spaces.
